Hanamatsuri food donations – Sylvia Bridge mochi cupcakes, Terry Kase manju, Sammy Yamamoto tsukemono. They were delicious! Thank you.

Hana Matsuri flower donations were from Jim Agawa, BettyAnn Kurokawa, Mariko Nakano..Hanamido Decorators: Patsy Hoyos, Sumi Schumacher, Rev Nakano, Donna Sato, Alice Ustunomiya. Thank you.

Hana Matsuri was successful with about 42 members and friends enjoying the otoki of sashimi, chow mein, chicken, and the trimmings. Thank you!

Obon Festival Crafts Booth – Please bring your wonderful craft items to the Craft Booth in the morning of the Obon Festival, July 31st, this year. All sales will go to the Guadalupe Buddhist Church. Please tag your items and bring it to the obon. Thank you.

Obon Meeting after Otoki on May 15th – to find out the schedule. Please remain and get in on the discussion. It shouldn’t take long. Thank you.

OBON DANCE AT SLOBC FROM 2 TO 5 PM. THIS IS NOT THEIR OBON FESTIVAL WHICH WILL BE HELD IN AUGUST. COME ON OUT TO THE SLCBC AND ENJOY AND/OR PRACTICE FOR THE OBON. “Keep it sweet and simple” Obon Odori. Dancing only, no kimono, happi coats only!

Keiro Kai will be Saturday, June 11, 11:30 AM, at Hamasato Restaurant. Anyone who is not of keiro kai age but who would like to attend need to pay for their dinners ($25.00 which includes tip). Let Alice Utsunomiya, cell 868-7286 or home 937-7026, know by May 27th, Thank you. Keiro Kai eligibility age is 75.

May Toban Group 4 – Dawn Kamiya, Leah Kawahara, Linda Matsuoka, Sophie Shimizu, Alice Utsunomiya. (This list is to remind the toban groups to visit the sick and families who have lost a family member during this month. We will do this only when notified.)

Obon Practice Reminder – Obon dance practice will begin at the Vets Memorial Community Center on Wednesday, June 29th, July 6th, 13th, 20th, and 29th  Practice will be from 6:30 to 8:00 PM. Bring your towels, fans and kachi-kachis. Refreshments will be served.
