The event supports the Guadalupe Buddhist Church annual Obon Festival, which provides the funds necessary to allow us to continue to keep the lights on and provide Jodo Shinshu Buddhist services to the community.
Specifically, the money raised will help us hold our annual Obon Festival, which has been a yearly tradition for well over 65 years! The costs of making this festival happen increase yearly, and as our church community is very small, we are asking for assistance in offsetting some of the production costs. The money will go toward the rental of the facility and refrigeration truck needed, buying the chicken and other foods that we prepare, the oak wood we use to BBQ and other related costs that come up in putting this festival together.

As this is the first time we are venturing to the public at large for financial support, any amount would be greatly appreciated. It will and allow us to continue in our positive role in the community, which has been our home since 1909!
